<p><span class="cm">Conceived and developed by <a href="http://www.adjustersasia.com/" target="_top" onMouseOver="MM_displayStatusMsg('Adjusters Asia');return document.MM_returnValue" class="link_2">Adjusters
Asia</a> - catastrophe (CAT) and aviation specialists - NAID began its
life as a simple contact list, but quickly grew to unmanageable proportions.
To overcome this, a decision was made to transfer the information, first
to a database on a single workstation, and then to an intranet. Others,
however, including private enterprises in Asia, Australia, Mexico, Europe
and New Zealand, soon wanted access to this same information while in
the field, and to accommodate their needs, the database was moved to an
extranet.</span></p>
<p><span class="cm">Eventually, a decision was made to build a separate
extranet, allowing companies — insurers — including those in
the United Kingdom, London and Australia, to input and edit their own
contact information, links, resources and company web sites. This proved
to be a tremendous success, but in recognizing the need for a more efficient
method of distribution, it was later decided to create and launch an entirely
separate entity.</span></p>

was designed as a resource tool for companies and organizations. Given
the global nature of the industry, however, including that pertaining
to aviation and catastrophe (CAT) claims adjusting, our original plans
were quickly abandoned in favor of a worldwide — or international
— platform.</span></p>

<p><span class="cm">As the most comprehensive database of its kind worldwide,
the North America Insurance Directory contains resources and listings
of companies, agents, brokers, marine surveyors, insurers, organizations
and associations in the United States (US, USA), the United Kingdom -
UK (England), Canada, Mexico, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean,
Australia - Oceania, and Europe.</span></p>
<p><span class="cm">Although operating on a not-for-profit basis, we do
seek to break even at some point, and your generous sponsorship will go
a long way in helping us to achieve this goal.</span></p>
<p><span class="cm">Currently under development by the technology and software
development arm of Adjusters Asia is a jobs and careers section allowing
both companies and individuals — claims managers, underwriters, CAT
adjusters, claims examiners, marine surveyors, actuaries, aviation specialists
and underwriting managers — to post jobs and resumes (CVs) free of
charge.</span></p>
